Felix Schell and the German Junior Team don´t qualify for the World Championships

For ten days, young center Felix Schell made his first international appearance at the 2008 European Chamionships for junior teams (U22). Lahn-Dill´s youngest player on the Bundesliga roster did his best to help his side, and eventually was Germany´s third best scorer. But after losing the quarter final to Poland, Germany finished the tournament on fifth place and missed the qualification for next year´s World Championships in Paris

Germany was ranked third after the group phase, even though the team of head coach Peter Richarz won all but one games. In the quarter finals, the German junior team faced a Polish team that featured the extremely talented Mateusz Filipski, a franchise player with Zwickau in the past season. Polands buzzer-beater sealed a 64-64 defeat for the German side.

Germany won the remainder of their games, but that wouldn´t change anything about being just 'the best of the rest'. Sweden claimed the Bronze medal, and Turkey lost a thrilling final to Spain.

RSV Lahn-Dill is nevertheless proud of Felix' great performances in his first caps for Germany.
